Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 June 2026

TL;DR. Sundime is an optimisation tool for residential batteries — a home Gateway plus an app. We help you tune your inverter to your retailer plan; you stay responsible for your inverter and your electricity arrangements. This is beta software — things will change. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

1. Who you're agreeing with

These terms are between you and HAAI Investments Pty Ltd trading as Sundime, a Victorian company ("we", "us", "Sundime"). They cover your use of the Sundime Gateway, the Sundime mobile application, our website at sundime.com.au, and any related testing or beta program we invite you to participate in (together, the "Service").

By setting up a Gateway, installing the app, or submitting the registration form, you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't use the Service.

2. What Sundime is — and isn't

Sundime is a home Gateway and companion app that help you, the owner of a grid-connected residential battery system, configure your inverter's charge and discharge schedules so they line up with your retail electricity plan and your own preferences.

Sundime is not, and does not hold itself out as:

  • an electricity retailer or generator;
  • a Demand Response Service Provider (DRSP) or aggregator;
  • a registered electrical contractor;
  • a financial product or financial advice service;
  • a Virtual Power Plant operator;
  • your installer.

We provide the tool. You decide whether and how to use it. You remain responsible for your inverter, your electricity account, and your compliance with any DNSP, retailer, or installer arrangements that apply to you.

3. Beta status — what to expect

The current version of Sundime is beta software. That means:

  • Features, copy, and behaviour will change between now and public release.
  • You may encounter bugs, layout issues, or missing functionality.
  • We may change which retailer plans and inverter models are supported.
  • We may pause or end the beta program at any time, and we may rescind an invitation at our discretion.

Sundime is designed so that every change it makes to your inverter is reversible. Every write is snapshotted, and you can restore the as-installed state from Settings at any time. Nothing in the Service touches grid-compliance commissioning settings (see section 7).

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service to interfere with someone else's inverter or electricity arrangement;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the Service beyond what is permitted by law;
  • remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices in the app, on the Gateway, or on the website;
  • share your beta access code publicly or with other people — codes are issued to individuals and are single-use;
  • attempt to defeat security controls, including code-gated endpoints or rate limits;
  • use the Service in a way that breaks any law, or for any purpose that requires electrical licensing you don't hold.

5. Intellectual property

The Sundime name, logo, app, Gateway, website, source code, and all related materials are owned by us. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to set up and use the Sundime Gateway, and to install the app on the phones and tablets you own or control, only for the purpose of managing your own residential battery system, and only while these terms are in force.

Nothing in this licence transfers ownership of the Service or its underlying intellectual property to you.

6. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service you are entitled to a refund or replacement, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any non-excludable consumer guarantee.

Subject to those non-excludable guarantees:

  • The Service is provided on an as-is, as-available basis.
  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose other than the general purpose described in section 2.
  • We don't warrant that any specific saving, FiT capture, or billing outcome will be achieved by using Sundime — actual results depend on your retailer plan, inverter, household load, and weather.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited, at our option, to resupplying the Service or refunding any fees you have paid us for it. We will never be liable for indirect or consequential losses.

7. Grid compliance and installer responsibility

Your inverter is part of a grid-connected electrical installation regulated under AS/NZS 4777.2. Sundime is engineered so it physically cannot write commissioning settings — grid voltage limits, country code, AS/NZS region thresholds, export limit, AFCI, ground-fault behaviour and the like. Sundime only writes a hand-picked whitelist of operational settings (charge and discharge schedules, battery floor, EMS mode override, force-charge command, schedule on/off).

Your installer remains responsible for your inverter's grid compliance, commissioning, and any DNSP-required settings. Sundime does not modify and cannot override their work.

We strongly recommend that the "Maximum Current of Buy Electricity" (or equivalent breaker-protection limit on your inverter) be set correctly by your installer before using Sundime's force-charge or peak-rate features. We surface a reminder of this during setup.

8. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • your inverter and battery, including their installation, maintenance, and warranties;
  • your electricity account and your relationship with your retailer;
  • the accuracy of the retailer plan and rate information you enter into the app;
  • the home network your Gateway and inverter sit on — Sundime works over your home network, and assumes that network is set up and secured by you;
  • following any installer or DNSP rules that apply to your installation.

9. Third-party services

Sundime is independent of GoodWe, SEMS+, SolarGo, and any other third-party brand mentioned in the app or on this site. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by your inverter manufacturer or your electricity retailer. Their products and services are governed by their own terms; we have no control over them.

10. Pricing

Sundime is free to use during the private beta. Pricing will be published on this website before you are charged anything. We will never bill you without telling you first and giving you the option to decline.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how Sundime handles personal information. In short: the Gateway runs your battery locally in your home and the optimisation happens there; a secure Australian connection handles software updates and, if you turn it on, remote access; and we don't sell or mine your energy data. The personal information we hold is what you send us directly (such as the registration form) and what your Gateway needs to share to stay updated and supported.

12. Ending these terms

You can stop using Sundime any time by removing the Gateway and the app and, optionally, restoring your inverter to its as-installed baseline from Settings.

We can end your access to the Service if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to you, us, or someone else. We'll generally give you notice and a chance to fix the problem first, unless the situation is urgent.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination — intellectual property, ACL framing, liability limits, governing law — survive.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Sundime evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page is the canonical version. Material changes will be flagged on the website and, where you have given us your email, by email. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated terms; if you don't agree, stop using the Service.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
